Facilities:
The Hermitage Museum consists of five acres of shaded grounds containing the historic Hermitage house museum and the Hermitage Education & Conference Center (HECC). Access to the park is through the south gate and along the paved driveway, which terminates in an ample parking lot adjacent to the HECC. 

Tours of the historic Hermitage begin at the HECC. The exhibition gallery, which features changing exhibits from our museum collections, and the Gift Shop are also located at the HECC. They are open during tour hours (Wednesday through Sunday, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m). Museum members receive a 10% discount on all purchases in the Gift Shop.

 

Hours of Operation:
The Hermitage is a New Jersey State Park operated by the nonprofit Friends of the Hermitage, Inc. We operate year-round. The Museum is open to the public Wednesday through Sunday, 1 p.m - 4 p.m. The administrative offices of the Friends of the Hermitage are open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. 

Park Grounds: Open 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday - Friday, and 1 p.m. - 4 p.m., Saturday- Sunday.

The Hermitage (guided tours of the historic house museum): Open Wednesday - Sunday at 1:15, 2:15, and 3:15 p.m.* 

*Tours of The Hermitage are given by volunteer museum docents. Shortages of volunteers during summer months and holiday periods may cause the museum to close during regular public hours. Please call ahead (201-445-8311) to verify museum hours.

Exhibition Gallery (Hermitage Education & Conference Center) & Gift Shop: Open Wednesday - Sunday, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. Please note that the Exhibition Gallery will be closed from October - December 2008 for the Classic Creations Craft Boutique.

Administrative Offices: Open 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday - Friday.

Education Programs are available by appointment 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday. For information about scheduling your program, contact the Hermitage Education Department at (201) 445-8311, ext. 33.


Admission:
Guided tours are $7.00 for adults; $5.00 for seniors; $4.00 for children (children under 6 are admitted free of charge). 

Friends of the Hermitage is committed to making its programs accessible to as many individuals as possible. Accessibility is limited for tours and some events. If you require special assistance, please call in advance so we may accommodate you. Reservations are not required for groups of less than 10. Groups of 10 or more are welcome by reservation. Group discounts are available.


Directions to The Hermitage:

Route 17 (north or south) to Hollywood Avenue exit. Bear left after exiting. Take Hollywood Avenue west to Franklin Turnpike, turn right onto North Franklin Turnpike and go 1/2 mile to The Hermitage on the left.

Garden State Parkway to exit 165, go west 1/3 mile on Ridgewood Ave. to Route 17 North on right. Follow the directions above.

New Jersey Turnpike to exit 16W to Route 3 West, exit at Route 17 North and follow directions for Route 17.

Route 287 to Route 208 South. Exit on Ewing Avenue and turn left onto Route 502 E. Follow Route 502 E. right at the traffic light (Franklin Avenue). Franklin Avenue becomes Wyckoff Avenue. Turn right onto Franklin Turnpike in Waldwick. The Hermitage is on your right.

From New York City: George Washington Bridge to Route 4 West to Route 17 North, follow directions for Route 17.

By train: New Jersey Transit Bergen County/Main Line to Waldwick Station. Walk east 2 blocks. Turn right on Franklin Turnpike and go south about 3 blocks. The Hermitage is on the right.
